Soft Hackle Fly Patterns

The Soft Hackle fly patterns are the oldest fly patterns. These flies are sparsely tied and sink quickly in the water column. You can either dead drift these flies or you can fish them like a streamer with short strips.

Soft Hackle flies have been used to catch every species of fish ever caught on a fishing line. If you are not catching fish, switch to a soft hackle and you luck will change.
